Mad Max Fury Road’s strange vehicles up for auction

The designer Colin Gibson was the one who devised this series of vehicles, in a strange cross between cars, vans and trucks with fantastic and mythological creatures. In total there were 150 pieces of which only 88 were selected that were destined to form part of the film.

In addition to their strange shapes, these vehicles were designed to fulfill certain functions, that is why some of them can only move in reverse, among other curiosities. But also, there were a lot of them that were only exclusively designed to be destroyed during filming, as part of the script. Therefore, only thirteen of them survived the filming.

Although the Lloyds house launched the call for the auction, it does not clarify in what condition the thirteen available vehicles are, and if they can move and be driven. However, they assure that there will be a few collectors and fans of the saga who will want to have some of these monsters with wheels in their garages, even if they cannot move them from there.

The auction house did not specify yet which will be the floor of the minimum offer to acquire one of these cars and clarified, playing with the apocalyptic plot of the film: “You can accept payment in any currency, including cryptocurrencies, since we are ahead of the end of civilization. The film is set in a post-apocalyptic future, with the Earth deserted, after a devastating drought and where gasoline and water are scarce products.

In that context, Max Rockatansky (Tom Hardy) and Imperator Furiosa (Charlize Theron) team up to flee from cult leader Immortan Joe (Hugh Keays-Byrne) and his army in an armored tank truck. What follows is a long battle on the road with all those vehicles in action.
