The 2021 Census was the largest national statistical operation, involving around 15 thousand people and the collaboration of numerous entities.
The first results of the 2021 Census will be presented on the 28th of July. However, the National Institute of Statistics (INE) released some data today.
2021 Census: The most used method was the direct access of families to the website (87.5%)
The 2021 Census collection phase took place between April 5th and May 31st and had the committed participation of the population, allowing the completion of most of the works only 6 weeks after the date of the census time (April 19th ).
According to data from INE, among the total of 99.3% of digital responses, the most used means was direct access to the families to the website (87.5%), followed by the answers using the the enumerator's mobile application (7.7%) and, finally, filling out the questionnaires at the 'ebalcões' located in the Parish Councils (4.1%).
It should be noted that despite the pandemic context and the high complexity of the entire process, the success of this census operation is inseparable from the extremely high level of participation by citizens, which, in turn, resulted from the enormous commitment of all those who supported , disseminated and participated in these 2021 Censuses.
The results of the 2021 Census that INE will present on the 28th of July are still preliminary, as they are based on counts resulting from the collection process and released before the end of the entire process of processing and validating the information collected.
The release of the final results of the 2021 Census is scheduled for the 4th quarter of 2022, but will still be preceded by a presentation of provisional results, to be released in February of next year
