Game news eFootball PES 2022: game modes, such as Master League, in paid DLC? Konami responds
After rumors which pleaded in the direction of a turn on the part of Konami around the Pro Evolution Soccer franchise, or PES, we therefore learned yesterday the end of the story: the latter becomes eFootball and begins a transition to a totally different business model.
For Pro Evolution Soccer, the fall days that marked the release of a new edition of the game are now over. By adopting the free-to-play model, the license now becomes accessible to any customer on PC and home consoles and, later, on mobile devices.
The title, which has not yet announced an official release date yet, has also unveiled its content schedule.. We learn that at the launch only local matches, featuring different teams, will be available. Just like the matches between generations of consoles (PS5 and PS4, Xbox Series X | S and Xbox One).
Subsequently, the game will be expanded with new content such as cross-play, team building mode, online leagues, Match Pass system and many more.
#eFootball ™ cross-platform online matches will be further improved with a new engine and adjusted to take *full* advantage of each platform.
In addition, offline modes such as “Master League” will be sold in the future as optional DLC on all compatible devices.

Nevertheless, a question remains around certain game modes such as the very famous “Master League”. In this regard, Konami said that the company plans to sell some of its individual game modes as optional DLCs.
Among them would therefore be the “Master League” mode. However, Konami did not provide more details on the price to pay but to clarify its position vis-à-vis this choice of economic model.
According to the company, this choice to set up such a system is guided by the will of ” give players the freedom to build an experience that follows their interests ». It remains to be seen, now, whether Konami reserves this fate for only a few representatives or for a more substantial handful of other candidates.
eFootball PES 2022 will launch in early fall, without further details, on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Windows 10 and PC via Steam, and later on iOS and Android media.
