Jason Momoa left his wife speechless in fiction Emilia Clarke in a series of photos they both posted last weekend. And yes, it is already one of the funniest –and muscular– reunions in the history of Game of Thrones.
“When your sun and stars come to town, you see that you can still bench press a Khaleesi,” wrote the 34-year-old Brit, who has 26.9 million followers on Instagram. For his part, Momoa, 42, born in Honolulu and raised in Iowa, responded in the comments with “I love you forever, moon of my life.”
Clarke climbed onto Jason’s lap during the mini-meeting, while he was sporting a captain’s cap and a scrunchy on his wrist. And if it was not clear, the person in charge of giving life to Aqueman also included a love emoji and seven heart emojis.
The reason for the reunion appears to have been a celebration with Game of Thrones co-creator David Benioff. “Happy birthday Benioff, handsome and generous bada ** leo! Aloha, J, ”Jason wrote. But interestingly, the six-time Emmy winner’s 51st birthday isn’t until September 25.
Momoa only played Dothraki warrior leader Khal Drogo in 10 episodes (from 2011-2012) of the hit HBO series, but fans fondly remember his arranged marriage to Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia).
Both star in the mythical rape scene of the series. “I’ve never been asked if I regret playing a role. We’ll put it like this: I already did. I will not do. As if an actor had the ability to do that. Actually, we are not allowed to do anything. There are producers, there are scriptwriters, there are directors, and you can’t come in and say I’m not going to do that because it’s not correct at the moment and it is not correct in the political climate. That never happens, Momoa said.
Momoa will produce and star in the role of bereaved husband Cooper in his friend Brian Andrew Mendoza’s first film, Sweet Girl, which will premiere August 20 on Netflix. A father-daughter revenge thriller also stars Isabela Merced, Amy Brenneman and Justin Bartha.
Separately, the four-time Emmy nominee confirmed last month that she will be joining the MCU on the Disney + series Secret Invasion alongside Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn.
