Celebrity photo book captures Scarlett Johansson and Co. in wild, intimate moments – nonenglishfeed

These stars are ready for their close-up.

A new book by UK “photographer to the stars” Andy Gotts shows off a wild collection of contact sheets featuring celebrities in seemingly unfiltered, unguarded moments — often with shockingly elastic faces and in body-baring poses.

“The Photograph,” available now in the UK and on pre-order in the US from ACC Art Books, includes a topless Rita Ora, 30, sporting an adorable pixie cut as she shows off her numerous tattoos — as well as some generous side-boob.

Meanwhile, new mom and “Black Widow” star Scarlett Johansson — who also graces the cover — trades gorgeous for goofy as the 36-year-old actress contorts her surprisingly malleable mug.

“I shot Rita Ora in Flemings Mayfair. My concept for the shoot was a close crop shot of her face, as she has very striking features,” Gotts said. “I had no idea she had so many tattoos over her body and she was very happy to show them off for the shoot.”

And T-shirt-wearing, two-time Oscar-winning actor George Clooney comes off as childlike in his series of portraits, in which he sports a silly pirate’s hat.

“I shot George Clooney at his beautiful Lake Como residence,” Gotts revealed to Media Drum World of his session with the 60-year-old “Syriana” star. “I found George, as you can imagine, a very charismatic man and you get the impression that he is very quickly in tune with anyone he’s engaging with.

“He has this unique ability to make you feel like you are the most important person in his life,” concluded Gotts, whose 30-year career is also on display at a solo exhibition, “Icons,” at London’s Maddox Gallery Westbourne Grove through Sept. 19.

Gotts includes dozens of stunning portraits of A-list stars, including Meryl Streep, Robert De Niro, the late Alan Rickman and Heath Ledger, Judi Dench, Elton John, Sidney Poitier, Dolly Parton, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Eddie Redmayne, Naomi Campbell, Sting, Gwyneth Paltrow, Harrison Ford, Penelope Cruz, Hugh Grant, Rita Ora, Samuel L. Jackson, Boy George and many more.

There are some supermodels who act like supermodels. Kate Moss acts like Kate Moss.”

"When I asked Robert De Niro to be shot for my Icons project, he said "No' in the same week that Al Pacino had refused ... and then said 'Yes' in the same week that Al Pacino agreed," Gotts said of the 78-year-old, two-time Oscar-winning star of “Raging Bull” “The Godfather: Part II,” whose shoot took place at the Dorchester Hotel in London. "He arrived in an old blazer and a captain’s hat. He sat as close as possible to me, put his arm around me asking if he could call me Andy, and saying for me to call him Bob."

Of course, it isn’t all just a bunch of wild things; there are more demure stills in the mix. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Academy Award winner Meryl Streep, 72, is primarily pensive in her nine-photo sequence, but she does find her light when she gazes to the heavens in her centerpiece portrait.

The 240-page tome also includes interviews with and “testimonials” from the likes of Alan Cumming, Gene Simmons, Ian McKellen, Jeff Bridges, Michael Caine, Peter Capaldi and Simon Pegg.

“Andy’s contact sheets give us what feels like a VIP pass to spend time with his subjects.” wrote Australian singer, actress and gay icon Kylie Minogue in the forward to the book. Her flirty series of pix features the “Loco-Motion” songstress laughing and whipping her hair for the camera.

“We see their beauty, flaws, charisma, humanity, and even get a glimpse into their thoughts and processes,” added the 53-year-old, whose own session seemed to capture many of her sentiments.
