Project Power

Project Power

Project Power is a fun, slick action thriller starring well-known names Jamie Foxx, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and artist Machine Gun Kelly.

The film on Netflix is based around a drug, which gives users a time-limited surge of superhero energy. However, the downside is it only lasts five minutes and the comedown is known to spontaneously combust the user in some cases.

Detective Frank Shaver, played by Gordon-Levitt developed a nasty habit for the drug, which is supplied to him by teen dealer and rap artist Robin, played by up and coming Dominique Fishback. Art, a former soldier played by Jamie Foxx, teams up with a cop to find the source behind the dangerous pill.

Due to the heavy themes and extreme violence this film isn’t recommended for a younger audience.

The Dark Knight Rises

It is one of the best Hollywood Superhero movies of all time, and one of Christian Bale and Tom Hardy’s finest works.

For many, The Dark Knight Rises tops its prequel – especially after Heath Ledger’s legendary performance as the Joker.

The film focuses on Bane, an imposing terrorist disrupting Gotham City’s eight-year-long period of peace. This forces Bruce Wayne to come out of hiding and don the cape and cowl of Batman again.

You will need to watch to know how Bruce Wayne ends his career as Batman – does he need to sacrifice himself?

Hancock

If you’re looking for a fun superhero film to watch, look no further! Will Smith, Charlize Theron and Jason Bateman have done a fantastic and convincing job in their roles.

It tells the story of a vigilante superhero, Smith, played by Smith from Los Angeles whose reckless actions routinely cost the city millions of dollars. Eventually he saves one person, Ray Embrey, played by Bateman who makes it his mission to change Hancock’s public image for the better.

The plot thickens when Hancock realises he’s not the only superhero around and to make matters worse, this superhero is much better than Hancock. Are they related? You will have to watch to find out.

After being dumped by Joker for the millionth time, Harley struggles to pick herself up. Trouble always seems to follow Harley, with no Joker on her side, she proves that she doesn’t need a man to get things done.

Harley meets and teams up with Huntress, Black Canary and Renee Montoya (the Bird of Prey) to defeat a gangster and protect a girl.

The film also includes an adorable CGI spotted hyena, whom Harley names after Bruce Wayne and takes up roller derby. This film combines adventure, action, feminism and superhero all in one.

The beloved superhero Spider-Man is the gift that keeps giving, this time Peter Parker faces four destructive elemental monsters while on holiday in Europe. Soon, he receives help from Mysterio, a fellow hero with mysterious origins.

You don’t need to read the comics to immerse yourself in this one. It has everything you could ask for in a superhero film as well as real life struggles.

Tom Holland once again delivers every bit of the Spidey fun fans needed, not to mention that Jack Gyllenhaal as Mysterio was a great casting choice.
